Driving Safety

Is it safe to drive in the rain on St. Thomas roads?

Rain can make steep, winding roads slippery, and standing water can hide potholes. Reduce speed, increase following distance, and avoid sudden braking on descents. Heavy downpours can briefly reduce visibility to near zero — if that happens, pull over safely and wait it out, as storms often pass quickly. Turn on your headlights whenever your wipers are in use.
